In December 7, 1941, History wrote one of the most tragic events on their book. We commonly known the tragedy as Peal Harbor attack.  Pearl Harbor attack was killing thousands American Troops, innocents, and the tragedy marked greater tragedy in human kind which was known as World War II. This is top 10 interesting facts about Pearl Harbor

1. Fact 1:

Pearl Harbor was a 10 miles square naval base of US Navy. Pearl Harbor was popular as the Gibraltar of the pacific.
2. Fact 2:

The sudden attach bonds Britain and US as one giant superpower. Soon after the attack, These 2 countries announced World War II. The main target of declaration was to avenge the tragedy and also to response Nazi threat.
3. Fact 3:

The attack of Japanese air fleets composed 2 air waves attacks. The first one was running at 7:55 and the second one was around an hour later. The first wave, 183 Japanese planes burn Pearl Harbor and the second waves involved 167 planes.  These 2 waves attacks had destroyed 8 Battle ships, 3 destroyers, 3 cruisers, 1 minelayer and more than 188 US airplanes. In Japanese side, US armies shot down 29 aircraft from 350-air fleets.
4. Fact 4:
Japanese attack master plan was not completely success. Some of their targets were unharmed. Some of them are 3 US aircraft carrier (Lexington, Saratoga and Enterprise), and a fuel tank base.
5. Fact 5:

Nazi-Fascist Italy threat and US Economy embargo were the main reason of the Japanese Pearl Harbor attack. The tragedy had killed more than 2,400 soldiers, 57 non-military, wounded 1,247 armies and 35 non-military.
6. Fact 6:
After War declaration announced, admiral Husband Kimmel and General Walter Short who was the highest commander of Pearl harbor were recalled from their authority.
7. Fact 7;

Japanese air fleet took 90 minutes to reach Pearl Harbor airbase from the aircraft carriers. Couple of minutes before one bomb dropped from the airplane, a private on a radar control room had detected them. Unfortunately, his higher commander decided to ignore the private warn because he believed on the radar was US B-17s air fleet back from a mission.
8. Fact 8;

One day after the attack, US congress took a poll to react the tragedy. All US states representatives but Jeannette Rankin from Montana agreed to response the attack with full military forces and later Nuclear launch
9.Fact 9;

Four US battleships with the worst technical damages were USS Nevada, Arizona, West Virginia and USS Oklahoma. Oklahoma was the last battleship that was drowned it in May 17, 1947,
10.  Fact 10.

May 30, 1962 was the first day of Pearl Harbor memorial over the wrecked of USS Arizona. Since that day, main ceremony of Pearl Harbor memorial was always above the buried battleships.
